MINUTES FOR SEPTEMBER 2nd MEETING

The meeting started late do to the traffic revision in Hoquiam. We wanted to give members who may be caught in the traffic a chance to get to the meeting.
The meeting was called to order by Joe , KA7AIR at 7:16 pm.
Self introductions were given, there were 16 in attendance.
Minutes of the August meeting were not available so were not presented.
Bill, KR7ON, gave the treasures report (Attached).
Bill, KR7ON mentioned that the club came up with a two record set of code practice that may have some value to an amateur radio display that Kevin, K7KHC, is working on at the museum in Aberdeen .
It was proposed by Bill that they be donated and Kevin agreed to accept the donation. The club approved the donation.
Les, N7GH, announced that he was adding Jim, WA7GH, and Dave, W7AUW, to the web committee.
Joe, KA7AIR, gave a quick report on the progress of the repair and upgrade of the 146.90 repeater. It’s return date is not known but is hoped to be within the next 3 or 4 weeks. Les made a motion that when the repeater returns it be designated for a DX spotter net each night after 8pm. The repeater would still be open for regular use. The motion was seconded by Jim, WA7GH, The motion passed.
The ARRL report was given by Joe , KA7AIR. It is attached.
Les, N7GH, made a motion the club accept a Hustler antenna from Bill, KR7ON. The motion was seconded by Jim, WA7GH. motion passed.
Les, N7GH, made a motion which was seconded by Bill, KR7ON, to offer VE testing after each club meeting. motion passed.
Les, N7GH, stated that if propagation did not look favorable he would cancel the 6 meter event later this month.
Les went on to remind the club of the up coming event at Lake Sylvia in Montesano. The club has agreed to help with communications. The event is to be held Saturday, September the 25th and more help is needed. We will be working 2 meters and if you can help contact Les, N7GH.
Sherman, WA7RII, reminded the club of the no host lunch coming up on Wednesday, September 8th at the Elks Club on the Westport highway just past the college. The lunch starts at about 11:30 am. Saturday there is a swap meet, sponsored by the Highline ARC, in Kent
It was proposed that the minutes of the club meetings be sent to Les, N7GH, at which time he will post them on the web page. This proposal was agreed to by the club members in attendance. Les stated they can be sent to him via e-mail or hard copy.
There was no 50/50 drawing (no tickets).
Arnold, KH6COY, motioned and Stan, KB7VGH, seconded that the meeting adjourn. Motion passed.
Joe, KA7AIR, adjourned the meeting at 8:25 pm.
